Dr. Sebastian Cohen<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctorate in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Montreal, he is an artist dedicated to inspiring audiences with a profound, and passionate engagement with the most transcendent orchestral works. With extensive stylistic expertise across the repertoire, he brings valuable experience in conducting, contributing significantly to the artistic development and programming of orchestral organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


His training has been enriched by masterclasses with distinguished conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Helmut Rilling, Kurt Masur, and Jean Fournet. As a guest conductor, he has led ensembles including the Canadian Francophonie Orchestra, the University of Montreal Symphony, the Col\u00f3n Theatre Youth Symphony, the National Radio Youth Symphony, the Panama National Symphony, and the Xalapa Symphony, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Dr. Cohen\u2019s versatility across musical styles, combined with his pedagogical expertise, has fostered meaningful artistic engagement with diverse audiences. His doctoral research on Gustav Mahler has received notable recognition in the field of musical analysis and has been featured in programs by Mexico\u2019s National Center for Musical Research, Documentation, and Information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


From 2011 to 2016, he served as Artistic and Musical Director of the Orchestra of the National Center of the Arts in Mexico. He then held the position of Conductor of the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Panama from 2017 to 2021. In 2023, following an international selection process, he was appointed Artistic and Musical Director of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the State of Veracruz, Mexico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
