Berlin Philharmonic

For those who are not yet familiar, I’d like to share one of the greatest compilation of amazing performances there is: the Berlin Philharmonic’s Digital Concert Hall.

Definitely recommend subscribing to the service as the concert repository is huge. Also, the recordings are extremely well done: High-Quality videos, and the performances are even split on tracks for easy navigation!

Although there’s a great selection of free performances, I’d like to recommend the following: The Carmen Suite, arrangement by Schedrin. It’s performed by musicians and dancers from several Berlin Schools and conducted by Sir Simon Rattle. It’s a beautiful arrangement I’ve had the chance to conduct on several occasions. A must see: performance + choreography!

I hope you’ll enjoy browsing around the catalogue of the Berlin Philharmonic website. The Digital Concert Hall doesn’t replace going to a concert at the Berliner Philharmonie, but is a great tool for anyone interested in listening to amazing performances in the best audio and video quality available.

Finally, if you do get the chance to visit to go to a concert at the Philharmonie, don’t miss the chance to visit the Musical Instruments Museum. One of the best collections of instruments of all times (and some are interactive!).

Enjoy!
